Great grades and 84th percentile on HSPT and still got wait listed at SJC?!?!?

OP- the PP had a great idea to send in a letter. I am sorry, I know you are disappointed and he must be also. Do you have a public option? I really think it will work out.

They probably let in a bunch of kids that also got into Gonzaga, so the list should move quickly.

But remember that schools overaccept knowing that some will not come. It's not like every declined acceptance generates movement from the wait list.

You do not know what the teachers recommendations said and many other "details" she is not telling us.
Those are good grades to be WL I know a lot of kid that got much less on the HSPT and they are in.

Op here, I was also surprised because when we have parent teacher conferences the teachers say pretty much all good things. The only thing that they say he needs to work on is being less talkative in class.

I am really surprised about a few of the kids I know who were accepted this year. Not strong academically or sports-wise. Not even Catholic! 60-70% HSPT. Go figure.

So you saw their transcripts and teacher recommendations?

I am surprised by how many people know multiple others HSPT scores. My kid doesn't even know his own and I don't know the score of any of the numerous kids who we know applied.

I disagree with this comment because my child knows all his friends score and he has told me.
