Yup. This is the obstacle course that the gop clown car needs to navigate. Good luck. |

Huh!?

| I cringe when I read "believing" in evolution. you believe fairy tales, in Santa, in a religion. evolution is a scientific theory, not a religion, and as such you don't "believe" in it. you study it, you understand it, you look for evidence in support of it, you look for evidence that may be difficult to explain under the current theory and thus help further develop it and improve it. |
I cringe when people believe in fairy tales. Literally. |
I think he got this backwards...
|
I think you have a loaded definition of belief. Lots of logical systems deal with the notion of belief. Computer systems deal with belief, belief propagation. A belief is an acceptance that something is true. You can't say that the theory of evolution is true, any more than you can say the theory of gravity is true. All you can do is state that you believe the theory. And the reason that you state the belief is because, if you don't, you can't use the theory for any useful purpose. Or conversely, if you use the theory, you must believe that it is true. |
Not sure what you are confused about. The bible perhaps the greatest work of literature of in the world. Parts of it are also accurate historical text. It is also a potent work of theology as evidence by the persistence of Judaism and the growth of Christianity. |
So you too agree that it is not all accurate historical text. Then why did you bother to blast a person railing against people who believe that every word in the bible is literally true? |
King James Bible - Samuel 18:25-27 "25 And Saul said, Thus shall ye say to David, The king desireth not any dowry, but an hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to be avenged of the king's enemies. But Saul thought to make David fall by the hand of the Philistines. 26 And when his servants told David these words, it pleased David well to be the king's son in law: and the days were not expired. 27 Wherefore David arose and went, he and his men, and slew of the Philistines two hundred men; and David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full tale to the king, that he might be the king's son in law. And Saul gave him Michal his daughter to wife." Beautiful. Especially when taken literally as fundamentalists do. I thought that this was the kind of thing for which we think ISIS and Islamic fundamentalists are barbarians. But as long as it's Christian fundamentalism it's a great work of literature true in every word as stated. Rock on. |
He must have dropped out of college before they got to the evolution part. |

I think I saw you today.
