I cringe when I read "believing" in evolution. you believe fairy tales, in Santa, in a religion. evolution is a scientific theory, not a religion, and as such you don't "believe" in it. you study it, you understand it, you look for evidence in support of it, you look for evidence that may be difficult to explain under the current theory and thus help further develop it and improve it.
I think you have a loaded definition of belief. Lots of logical systems deal with the notion of belief. Computer systems deal with belief, belief propagation. A belief is an acceptance that something is true. You can't say that the theory of evolution is true, any more than you can say the theory of gravity is true. All you can do is state that you believe the theory. And the reason that you state the belief is because, if you don't, you can't use the theory for any useful purpose. Or conversely, if you use the theory, you must believe that it is true.
