if Crestwood gets a sweet deal for Deal, why not Cleveland Park and Woodley Park too?

Mayoral control of schools.

Sounds like mayoral control of schools is not a good idea.

I've been saying that since 2007.

If that happens, why not do the same with other areas west of the park that have been excluded from Deal? And why not other areas east of the park that are actually closer to the school?

Again, it is just a rumor at this point, but something to pay attention to. I hope the new major doesn't fall under old cronyism.

Crestwood is her base. Yes, it's unfair, given the proxmity of those other neighborhoods to Deal and the fact that they have fed to Deal for decades (longer than anyone can remember).

Crestwood has also fed to Deal for decades. Crestwood and Woodley Park are equidistant to Deal. In addition, Woodley Park already has a middle school.

Eaton and Woodley Park will both continue to feed to middle schools with strong reputations. Where would Crestwood feed that would compare?

Are you arguing that you'd take an EOTP school over Hardy?

This. Dance with the one that brought you. I think you can see a similar dynamic with her hesitance around a bus lane on 16th street.

For what I saw, there wasn't a lot of support for Bowser from Crestwood. I saw a lot of support for Catania. Did polling numbers show otherwise?

And she lost Ward 3. Big time.

Maybe so but she won EOTP ward 4 which is a big chunk of Lafayette and expected to go for Catania.

All the Crestwood folk were sure bowser would do something to tweak boundaries. Of course she has done nothing. Just a lot of blah blah.

Not all were sure she would tweak boundaries, but tweaking boundaries is not the only solution.

What streets east of rock creek park are zoned for Lafayette?

Bowser is on record in April saying she does not support people east of the river and east of the park (Crestwood and 16th Street Heights) from losing their access to schools they have had access too.
Bowser is also on record saying she will tweak the boundaries more recently. I assume that means the East of the Park and East of the River back to what they were...

But she's fine with people west of the Park losing access to the good schools to which they have traditionally had access.

Blah blah blah--she lied.

None. I think some people do not realize that Ward 4 is on both sides of the park, that Lafayette is physically in WOTP Ward 4 but its boundary is in both Ward 3 and WOTP Ward 4, and that Murch is physically in Ward 3 but its boundary is in both Ward 3 and WOTP Ward 4. The new boundaries change this such that the Ward 4 part of Murch (and the northernmost part of the Ward 3 part of Murch) will go to Lafayette. Lafayette's boundary will still be all WOTP.

So far, Bowser's approach to the schools seems to be whatever Kaya wants. Not a good thing.

Is anyone surprised? Bowser does not have her own ideas.
