I get that it's a great location. I've just not seen a single building on the campus that wowed me. I must be an East Coaster. I'd rather see schools like Duke, Williams, or Middlebury on the list. |
SMU is a beautiful campus. So is Sweet Briar, Colgate, and Sweet Briar. Fair list. |
But what about Sweet Briar? |
LOL. I meant to say Princeton at the end. But just so you know, Sweet Briar has a beautiful campus. Sweet Briar Sweet Briar Sweet Briar. |
I find Notre Dame worthy of this list. |
Agree that Richmond is lovely. Not worth the tuition for VA students who can go to UVA or W&M, but still lovely. |
I think Middlebury is gorgeous but maybe it didn't make the list because it lacks some of the campus plan or coherence of the others. Williams is also ver picturesque. I have seen Kenyon as well and it is one of the most beautiful campuses I've ever seen. |
Link is not working of me. Can someone be so kind as to cut and paste? |
Link works fine for me. You can also go to huffingtonpost.com/college and it's the first story in the "most popular" section on the right, scroll down a bit. |
Rhodes does not belong on this list. Pepperdine is pretty great. |
And any list like this that doesn't include UVA and W&M is odd. |
W&M is old but the campus as a whole is decidedly average. UVA belongs on any list due to Jefferson's original plan. |
I just don't get the appeal of Kenyon. How is it any more beautiful than any of a number of other Midwestern/Northeastern LACs? We visited and were underwhelmed since our expectations were so high. I went to Oberlin, which is not particularly beautiful, but I thought they were similar. I do like the eclectic architecture but fwuw DC preferred the schools with more homogeneous architecture. |
interesting and utterly meaningless and random-ish list ... BFD |
Colgate #1. Seriously? We thought the school was so unimpressive that we didn't stay for the information session. Besides thinking the school was gloomy and that the emphasis on frats and athletics was pathetic, the overblown sense of "self" totally turned us off. |
