federal pay increase of 1% - did your salary increase this year?

More of my taxes paying for their excess.

Clearly you don't actually know any federal employees and are just parroting something you read in a conservative article somewhere. Maybe you should only comment on threads you know something about.

What agency? Are you getting a step each year?

Assuming there is no promotion involved, I'm pretty sure I know which agency this is. And it is a little misleading to say it is a 6.5% increase. Five percent ofthat was a change to locality pay calculations and only really 1.5 salary increase.

Private sector.

3% raise and 10% bonus.

That's on top of my 7% promotion raise.

My agency is getting a total of a 4% raise.

No bonuses, no pay increases.

I think most feds are getting 1%.

Fed for 9+ years.
1%. No bonus (ever at my current agency). It works out to a cut - and then factor in the furloughs, I'm basically even.

I'm young (33), well educated, and experienced....I've got my second private sector job interview scheduled already. Ready to jump ship - there already is a serious brain drain here (only old CSRS folks sticking around, doing nothing all day)

I agree up to a point. However, we have almost no CSRS folks and most people at my agency seem to work pretty hard. However, it is disheartening to never really get ahead and to see more of the same on the horizon. If they make cuts to the FERS pension - I'm out of here.

Is this in discussion? If so, I need to brush up my resume. My husband keeps asking me why do I stay. I have stayed because my current job has allowed for flexibility in getting my kid to appointments. However if FERS is tinkered with, it tips the scale in a negative direction for staying.

I have heard it mentioned by the GOP at times in the past. They would like us to contribute more I believe. I'm sure they'd really like to gut it but not sure that would pass.
