Too old to wear Uggs or leggings?

Why in the world are they a young person item? Not being snarky, I honestly am bewildered why people think this. They are BOOTS, not micro-minis! I'm 45 and wear them all the time; have no plans to stop.

I never get these posts where people seem to think that once you're over 40, you can't wear all sorts of perfectly reasonable clothes.

Definitely not told old for leggings. Just make sure the sweater covers your butt.

LOL! Actually the butt covering bit applies to anyone of any age. Leggings are not pants!

Pigtails are also little girl clothes, too. There's no reason for that. They just are. Big hair bows are young girl clothes. There's no reason. They just are.

Uggs are also kid clothes. They are just super-young and childish looking.

You lost me at pigtails as clothing.

Accessories? Style? Whatever.

If you want to dress like you're 12 until your 112, good for you. You canl rock a One Direction sweatshirt along with the Uggs and leggings.

Agree with your general principle that some things "just are," but simply completely disagree that Uggs fall into that category. Not childish-looking at all to me or the other hundreds of thousands of people who choose to wear them, LOL. But to each her own!

+1000 for bringing One Direction into this...

I like Uggs, don't see them as childish...who makes up these rules anyway? Probably the same folks who say women of a particular shouldn't wear skirts above their knees or wear long hair, etc...wear what makes you comfortable...and by the way...do you notice older men don't abide by any rules about what they want to wear?

Thank you! Even if you are 20 and have a great ass, you still need pants.

So once you hit 40 you're supposed to give up and wear old lady clothes? Please. I see plenty of fashionable 40+ women in good quality leggings and boots (Uggs or otherwise) who look great. To the PP to claims Uggs are kid "clothes" as opposed to kid "boots" - what's your go to uniform, fashionista? Nice try at humor with the One Direction snark. Please try again and use your brain.

I wear ugg knockoffs and leggings at 44.

It looks childish because Uggs are like sweat pants for your feet. They have no shape. Any boots with a shape are better looking and more sophisticated. They are fine on a 12 year old girl who doesn't know better. On an adult woman, it's lazy and sloppy.

Any boot with a defined shape, that follows the shape of the calves and ankles, is better. It doesn't have to have a heel.

Life is short, wear what you want!
