UA hooded sweatshirt; XB game and controller (we so far only have Kinnect games); a bulls Jersey (substitute your kids favorite team). books His sister is a MSchooler who is getting Taylor Swift concert tix so am thinking about getting DS sporting event tickets. Maybe a Wizards game with Dad?? Or even local university basketball game

Mine is newly 8. He wants a gaming system (wants PS4 because that's what his friends have, but we're going to get a WiiU) and a Bryce Harper jersey (thank you, EBay). He seems to be done with Legos. He's still really into Star Wars so extended family will probably get him some Star Wars toys.

If you need ideas, just go to Barnes and Nobles. I was just at the one on Rockville Pike and they have a huge section with games on the main floor and another couple sections by age upstairs, including an age 8-10 section. So many cool games. You can't go wrong. One game I like there is Architecto.

someone just gave my 9 year old family trivial pursuit (different questions for kids and adults). We're really enjoying it as a family and learning stuff too!
