Lol, and now they get no Safeway and probably condos anyway. |
+1 Some of the people on the Tenleytown listserve block almost all development and we are worse off for it. |
| Old folks can't keep up with the time. Perhaps they still have rotary phones. |
| Condo dwellers like convenience, like a grocery store within walking distance. |
I'm sorry you are a relatively lower income renter. We old people kinda hold the cards for the moment, and the property. Not to worry, some day you too will get older and you might at that point own an expensive house that you don't want to see diminished in value. |
|
Somehow they have at least found the Chevy chase list serv in droves. |
I can't tell if you're joking. There's already a CVS, yes, you can have too many, and "convenience foods" don't a grocery store make. |
+1 McLean is the Same. Exact. Way. But they don't want it "out there". They resort to secondary list serves, believe it or not. Old people are pissed, and hold history AGAINST us. Only to cash in. If you are educated, don't let it happen. Just don't. |
Trust me, plenty of riff raff live on McArthur blvd in low rent condos |
I'd venture that having no grocery in the neighborhood will impact property values as much as a couple dozen new condos would have. Too bad viewpoints typically become more myopic as people grow old. |
You would be wrong in that assumption. See eg much of Chevy chase,'great falls, Potomac and country club hills in north Arlington. Just rent a smartcar and drive to a grocery store until you can get out of your lease and move closer to a Giant. |
I think it was a joke, but it made me laugh as that is exactly what is happening in Kensington. We are moving up in the world and getting a Five Guys. |
Where? (And ugh) |
Where the Hong Kong restaurant used to be behind the Pizza shop, the Hardware store and Chipolte. The owner of the Hong Kong Restaurant apparently retired (not sure if it was a forced retirement for more money). |
