+1 The thug thing as well as the perceived "disrespect" that is felt at all times is an AA thing, not a black thing. |
Respect is important when you feel like you don't have much else in this world. Think about what that would be like if that were your life and outlook and why you were that way. |
When you don't have any options except for gang banging or stealing it's not going to be easy to take a different path. If your adolescent brain were presented two paths, 1) get high, get women, sell dope make money now vs 2) graduate high school, go to school for 4 more years, struggle to get a desk job and then get women and money
Which path would you take? Especially when everyone is taking path 1 and dad isn't around. |
uh no There is a black boy in my daughter's class who is a pain in the ass. His parents could afford to put MY kids in private; they're that wealthy. Rich comes in all colors, lady, as does poor. That's a stupid analogy. talk about perpetuating stereotypes |
This makes no sense. You are still saying he deserved to be shot. Just like Trayvon deserved to be shot because he smoked pot, right? |
I'm black and think you both are idiots! |
Mark zuckerberg disagrees |
I am so done
So f&$$@&&&&$ done The absolute sheer ignorance of the OP. How about asking what white parents are teaching their white kids about not growing about to be racist!? I am just to sad to even hate you, you need prayer and an education. Who in their F@@@@ right mind tells someone well 'life is unfair, people are evil to you just because you exist so just deal with it, never question them even when they are wrong, just smile, be polite and maybes da white folk won't kill ya"! |
Teach children both respect and to know their rights. |
You need Jesus and a brain. |
I think "most" (I hope) white people are trying to change this next generation coming up. I know I am, along with my friends and family. It is going to take another generation, I think, to get the racism completely out of our culture, if we make it that far. |
REALLY?! ![]() |
It doesn't matter how many talks you have with your black sons, his cellphone will always be mistaken for a gun. Hell his fingers will be mistaken for guns, his presence will always be considered a "danger" so what do you do. Signed a woman who learned that she was black when she came to America 13 years ago. |
I think it's called the window effect theory, where we believe things to be true by what we see. When we watch tv we see the what the bad guys look like from the news from prison shows whatever. When we see someone that wears the same clothes, talks like them and carries themselves the way they do, then peoples protective instincts go off. This is true for any race.
I am white and I will explain to my kids what was explained to me. The cops are they if you need help - ask. If you are being questioned or in trouble BE RESPECTFUL. |
When I read the title "AA parents" i thought it was about Alcoholics Anonymous. |
