What does one have to do with the other? Have you really never heard the name before? If Kardashian if the first thing that comes to your mind that I guess not.

My cousin named her youngest Dashiell. If you are also an aspiring hipster, I say go for it.

Um, a pp said she knows two kids named Dashiell who go by Dash. Dash is the name of the Kardashian's store. That's the connection. Lighten up, Lady. Life is too short to be that cranky. Carry on.

My nephew is named Dashiell (def not low income AA). The name had a moment about 10 years ago. The little boy from The Incredibles is named Dashiell (called Dash). There are also a few celebrities who named their son Dashiell around the same time. I don't particularly care for it and it definitely trips up the olds. Lots of aunties thinking his name was Dashnell etc.

If the hipsters are moving onto obscure names like Dashiell, then how much longer until they hit names like Milton and Eugene? Can't hardly wait!

I used to know someone who named their child Dashiell. No nickname used (I assumed Dash at the time). I honestly think it's a putrid name used by people who are trying way to hard.

Trying *too hard to do what? If you don't like the name you don't like the name, I don't understand the need to insult people because they like name you happen to not like.

Geez, lighten up lady!!! Or go back and correct your two typos in your response. You asked what the Kardashian connection was, and I answered it.

PS - Kardashian is a valid name if you are aiming for the nickname Dash.

You obviously don't know DCUM well. That is what we do here. Get with the program.

This is a fine name. I don't think I would use it but I wouldn't think twice about it if I heard it (well maybe I would think, hey I used to know a guy with that name).

I love that actor! He was on the first season of Felicity.

Perfectly fine name, OP.

Actually, the hipsters have been using Dashiell for a while now. They'll probably be moving on soon.

You're right - better to name the kid John, and then tell him he was named that because it was easy.

My guess is it's because she **used** to know someone who named their child Dashiell....

"Black name" is what comes to mind, although after a while I also think of the little boy in "Thr Incredibles" ( called Dash but at one point one of the parents calls him by his full name )
