Where to go for really good mussels and fries?

It used to be fantastic but has slipped bit in recent years. The mussels and fries are usually still a safe bet but we've noticed less consistency in other dishes. Good beer list!

If you're ever in Richmond, try Can Can. Their Moules Frites is the best!

Is this for both locations? I heard they had a Gaithersburg/Kentlands place in addition to the DC one.

Do any of these places also serve clams in a nice broth? I always prefer clams to mussels but they are more difficult to find in a good broth.

Hank's is pretty good.

Or, actually, I had delicious mussels and fries at Poste 3 or 4 years ago. I think things have changed over there since, but it might still be on the menu.

Went there last week. Really good! But the upstairs was really loud but the downstairs club soda area was much quieter.

I really dislike Et Voila. It always gets top reviews but I've never had a good or pleasant meal there. The wait staff are pretentious and have pained expressions if they are asked any questions. I prefer Mannequin Pis. I've also had wonderful mussels at Mussel Bar even though it is routinely panned. Love Bistrot du Coin - so jolly, down-to-earth and the mussels are above average.

Central
Cafe du Parc

My go to places for mussels and frites. Always delicious. No grit.

Please support Tyber, lest they fall upon the same fate as last 4 restaurant failures that occupied that space.
