No fridge, no microwave, no nuts, no lunch meat-- what to take as a bagged lunch?

Lunch meat is out because even before pregnancy I was restricted on lunch meat from my doctor -- maintaining good blood pressure, low salts etc... No nuts, because I am allergic to nuts.

So is the restriction just on deli meats, or all meat?

I roast a chicken or roast beef on the weekend, and use sliced or shredded leftover meat to make sandwiches or salads throughout the week. Would that work? You control the salt as you cook the meat.

Otherwise - salad with chickpeas or black beans, fruit/cheese/cracker platter, egg salad sandwich, hard boiled eggs and veggies with hummus. You will need an insulated lunch bag and ice pack.

Thermos or Pack-It Freezable lunch bags:

You can find both brands at Target.

Just make what you'd usually eat if you had a fridge or microwave. Thermos will keep it hot or cold.

I like the individual size crockpot thing that is basically a glorified thermos. I have major dietary restrictions due to a digestive disorder so I am also really limited for lunch at work.

Ice packs. Salads. Bagels or crackers and cheese. Fruit. Flavored ball of rice.

OP, can you eat the nitrite and nitrate-free lunch meats? Just throwing out an option for the next time you have a craving. Good luck!
