| Any suggestions? I'm at a loss for ideas. |
| You kid's school bans lunchmeat? Really? |
|
No lunch meat?
Fruit. Bagel with creamed cheese. Soup in thermos. Rice and beans. Veggies and hummus. |
|
Sunbutter sandwiches?
|
| Dairy will keep with a good lunch box and freezer packs. |
| OP here. It is for me, I am moving to an office without a fridge and microwave and no local restaurant/quick eateries. Lunch meat is out because even before pregnancy I was restricted on lunch meat from my doctor -- maintaining good blood pressure, low salts etc... No nuts, because I am allergic to nuts. |
|
I assume the problem is protein or main dish:
Yogurt, cheese, leftover pizza, quesadillas, hummous |
|
A thermos is your friend.
pasta rice pilaf couscous cold pasta salad jambalaya red beans and rice mac & cheese soup (a cold one like gazpacho would be extra good!) hummus quesadillas zucchini noodles steamed veggies |
|
Invest in a good lunch box/bag and some ice packs. If you have your own office you can also get a dorm fridge pretty cheap and it might be worth it.
|
Hahaha! I was wondering what strange pre-school or camp puts those kind of food restrictions in place
What about veggie wraps with shredded cheese? |
Bagel with laughing cow cheese. Whole wheat bread/pita with hummus. Sunflower seed butter sandwich. Applesauce, grapes. |
I just assumed it was my kids camp. JCC. No meat, no nuts, no refrigerator, no microwave. I do sunbutter and Israeli chocolate spread, dairy ice packs, and thermos'. |
|
Cheese?
Hummus? DC1 eats a cheese and cucumber sandwich with a little yogurt container for dessert that I keep cool by sticking a small ice pack in his lunch box. Even at 3:30pm the yogurt is still cool. |
| Algae. |
Will they let you buy a small dorm room fridge and keep it near your desk or in your office? I did that when I was pregnant and teaching. |
