Do you ever find yourself totally consumed by a book that it sticks with you? Too long?

Yes, these are some books that come to mind that affected me like that:

Vampire Winter
The Hot Zone
A Thousand Splendid Suns (kudos 13:13)
Swan Song (listened to it on Audible)
Enclave Series (listened to it on Audible)

FWIW, Enclave is a YA series, and I'm almost 40. Should I hang my head in shame to?

Oh, A Fine Balance was such a beautiful book!!

For me, Wally Lamb's first two novels - She's Come Undone and I Know This Much Is True stuck with me for a long time afterwords.

Please do -- I'm into YA books right now. Just finished The Giver and loved it.

Divergent series. There. I said it. 2nd book is the best. (hangs head in shame.)
No shame in reading that. I read all three and I don't normally read YA novels.

That book has stuck with me for the past year. I couldn't ever re-read it, but I can't forget it.

Honestly, I don't see why it's YA. It's pretty violent and bloody. I guess the absence of sex and cursing warrants a YA rating? I love PA fic

Was just going to post this. Miriam! (And I rarely remember the names of characters).

Mine too. I loved them both.

I own A Fine Balance and haven't read it yet. Guess I need to!

Is there any love/tension?

That's what I call a good book!

Nothing in particular, but certain books get me so attached to the characters that I really want to know what happens next! This is actually why I don't read short stories - too many unanswered questions.

Another person here whose favorite book is She's Come Undone.
