| I have always felt the GBRS was somewhat subjective as well. |
| GBRS is used by some teachers to be against kids whose parents DO NOT VOLUNTEER or who does not click with their teacher or who are quiet in classroom. Don't swear it. If you believe in your kid, take her/him to a WISC test. |

We got our DC's GBRS. Not sure what to think of it yet.
The commentaries are written beautifully and they are definitely very personal- not a cut and paste since it gives very specific examples. I am a bit surprised that as substantive as the data was, that the score is only a 10. Almost wishing for a canned response with a better number.

I have heard this claim, but have not seen any evidence. If this is true, cite sources, or file a complaint. I would not be surprised if GBRS is better with parents that volunteer more, only because they tend to be more involved in the children's life. |
By the same token, GBRS are often inflated when a teacher has a favorite parent, especially one who is buddy-buddy with the teacher. |
Based on the commentaries, do you think it is an accurate portrayal of your child (number aside)? |
I can't believe someone hasn't called you out on this post yet! Please tell me you're kidding, right? You can't be that ignorant. For one point of reference, my DD got a 16 GBRS this year and I haven't been in her classroom once to volunteer. That may be because during the hours of 9-4 I'm working at a success and fulfilling career. One that my DD thinks is "super cool' and maybe wants to do also. You're kidding yourself if you think most SAHMs, in this area, who routinely volunteer in the classroom are more "involved" in their child's life to the point that they would fairly recieve a higher GBRS. They volunteer to buddy up to the teacher to try and score a higher GBRS. |
| My child got a 16 and the teacher doesn't allow volunteers. I'm not the room parent and because I work, I haven't been to any of the class parties nor have I offered to bring items, be a chaperone, etc. |
enough said. |
So your a porn star. Big deal. Just saying you have to work would have been sufficient. |
There are still people who don't know the difference between 'your' and 'you are' 'their' and 'there' |
| Is it typical to ask for your child's GBRS? I have no interaction with the teacher or the AART and would feel awkward asking for it. |
