Clue her into the Unc alternative course that the athletes and regular students use where you get a degree for doing absolutely nothing. That way she can spend more time on her sport and get a leg up on the schools that are harder. |

No dog in this fight, but you should always put a space after a comma. |
This is a terrible response. |
Definition of a loser: someone who tries to be snarky and superior about grammar and then can't even get her own post right. Hysterical! |

This happens at every single college, every single one. Sure some will kick a person out after they have tried to correct the problem. I know from personal experience at a few schools that this has happened.
The funny thing is the schools are using these guys as much as they are using the schools. John Thompson was a big supporter of prop 48, go ahead google it, he protested by wlaking off the ocurt. How is the world would ALlen Iverson go from jail to Georgetown and once there, be eligible to play? It happens everywhere, everywhere |

Columbia had a football player who famously mis-spelled "Columbia" on something that wound up all over the web. And it wasn't even a decent football team. I don't think UNC is too much worse than other large schools i/t/o their coddling of jocks. The NLRB ruling that preliminarily determines that college jocks may be employees could wind up contributing a bit to some reform measures.

Exactly. This is the same as you would see at any Division I program. And let's not pretend these guys are getting degrees for the most part - they are just using these classes to inflate their GPA to stay academically eligible.
And I have no dog in the fight, but I think UNC has certainly produced as many notable alumni as Maryland. See, e.g., http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_University_of_North_Carolina_at_Chapel_Hill_alumni. |
| Does anybody feel sad for the student. People have been pushing him along just because they want to win games, nobody has taken the time to make sure this child will be successful after sports. They are using and abusing this student. |
|
This doesn't happen at any good schools. They struggle keeping kids in school but at least they do the work and if not they are not given diplomas if they are illiterate.
Unc actually gives diplomas to people with a 3rd grade reading level. This is cheating , low budget, sleazy and probably racist. A lot like Penn State it's institutional and low quality people run the school. |
| OP's vitriol at Carolina is over the top. She must not have been admitted. |
You would be wrong. Unc has no innovative or crazy smart alumni like Umd. Find one thing invented by Unc alum. You won't ... It's sad. |
| UMD booster, I'm probably not the only one tired of your constant bashing of other state universities, especially UNC. You are instantly recognizable by your tone, diction and fanatacism about a very solid - but not spectacular - state school. Signed, someone who knows dozens of UMD grads, of whom not a single one is "crazy smart" |
| Wow. That term paper is hilarious!! A minus? That is A plus material at Unc ! Regular students take the no show classes too.... This is gonna get ugly. Unc may have 2 basketball titles revoked. This is cheating. |
The guy who invented google is smarter than all Unc grads combined. And that's just one of our geniuses. Congratulations, you lose! |
