"Baby on board" stickers

Driving slow and cautiously only causes more accidents. It's been proven many times. Why would you drive slower because you have a kid in the car? You should always drive safely but driving below the speed limit is dangerous.

I wouldn't expect other drivers to give me "right of way" just because I have that sticker or treat me in a certain way.

It's more of a "Hey guys! Sorry I'm driving so slowly/carefully...here's why" type of thing.

That's kind of a stupid reason when you think of it. If everyone who had a baby in the car drove below the speed limit, there would be chaos.

There wouldn't be chaos if they all did it in the right lane!

(That's the one for not passing, for those who don't know.)

I thought they're to help when driving in HOV since DC can't be seen in the back seat. Cops are less likely to pull you over if they think/know there's a kid in there.

- let first responders know to look for a child in case of an accident/ejection from the carseat

- let drivers around know there's a child so they supposedly watch for their surroundings when passing a stopped car with this sticker on - runner 2yos anyone?

- remind others to look inside when they walk by a stopped car with this sticker and call 911 in case someone forgot the baby inside

- avoid jerks who park 2 inches from our door impeding us to fully open our doors to buckle our child properly in their seat. Haven't you seen handicapped cars with such stickers begging people to keep 3 feet from their doors to allow wheelchair by the door???

Seriously DCUM? I thought you're smarter than that.

Oh and the HOV thing.

I don't have the sticker anymore and we get weird looks and fingers all the time BC people can't see the kids in there.

You are deeply misguided if you think that dorky sign leads anyone else to a single one of these actions.

The stick figure families are the worse! Great you have a son, a daughter and a dog. I don't need to know that much about the person driving in front of me.
Don't people care about devaluing their car?

LOL yeah, those stickers make people park farther from your car so there's room to get the seat out. Ha!

Yes! I was waiting for someone to bring this up! Hate them however, my 12 year old wants us to put these on our vehicle. We told her stickers mess up your car.

I hate those BOB and the stick figure decals. Lame.

I think some of you folks need to Google the origin of that sticker before you piss all over people who have it.

Baby on board stickers are useful for emergency personnel, as well as making other drivers hopefully more aware when driving near these vehicles. I know I am, and despite the unfeeling posters on this (parenting!) board, I know I am not the only one.

Don't lump in the frivolous stick figures, etc with BOB stickers.
