Pupil place at Lake Braddock instead of Woodson

Thank you, PPs. I will call the FCPS staff person in the student transfer office.

Following up on this thread - I did speak with the staff person (who is very, very nice) and we have the process started to pupil place at Lake Braddock.

Thanks to the PPs with the great advice!

Glad to hear it's moving forward as you hoped! Good luck!

Bumping this. Anyone know of any classes -- other than Japanese -- that Lake Braddock has that Woodson doesn't? OP, if you are still around, how did you make it work? Have you had any trouble getting it renewed?

Thanks!

I know several students specifically that transferred out of Woodson to LB.

Not OP, but we have had no trouble renewing our pupil placement at Lake Braddock. The school supplies the renewal form each year.

Thank you for posting. If you don't mind sharing, what reason did you use for the student transfer/pupil placement?

Anonymous wrote:You have to find a program that Lake Braddock has that Woodson does not, and it has to be the closest school that offers that program, then your child has to take that class. But the proximity thing is the one that you'll have to deal with once you find a program. Look at the languages - depending on where you live that might be an option. But LB has to be the closest school to your house per FCPS that offers that program.

Japanese.

Different poster here.

I believe LB is under capacity, in spite of being so large.

Japanese has been mentioned but are there any other viable choices that others have used?

We transferred to Lake Braddock. It is closer to our house than Woodson.

We must be neighbors! We're in Red Fox Forest.

I wish FCPS would make boundary changes as some of them make no sense. Lake Braddock is just over a mile from my house. Woodson is over 4 miles.
