How stiff are you?

I kinda love that PP who posted those exercises...

I used to be very stiff every morning, but I went off gluten and dairy, and started taking calcium and magnesium and fish oil every single day, and limiting sugar as much as possible (can't say I did that well this Christmas, but oh well). I'm still stiff when I get up off the floor after sitting for a while, but I bounce back quickly. I'm 57.

My back hurts every morning, but I think that's because I have not been doing lower back stretches for quite a while.

It took about two years off gluten and dairy for me to see total remission of this achy problem, though. Dietary changes do not work quickly. The fish oil seems to work more quickly. If I miss a day of fish oil I feel slightly more achy.

Everything is stiff, achey and all my joints feel loose and crackly. I'm 52 and this started about 7 years ago. I couldn't exercise even if I had the ambition because any kind of exertion seems to cause more pain.

Food has alot to do with aching joints, talk to your DR or alternative Dr and find out how your diet affects evey thing you are what you eat, for example did you know cancer feeds on sugar?

I have RA so I'm always stiff. Just had foot surgery, just one of many surgeries to come.

I'm 49, months shy of turning 50. I have a 7 yr. old so I deal with the pain as best I can. I try to walk 3-4 miles a day, and do other exercises as needed, but the pain is always there.

I am stiff after sitting an hour or so, trying to do stretching exercises while sitting to avoid the limping around that PP mentioned...also I have a vit D deficiency and my sis (50ish) just found out she has one too. Seems to be a common thing at this age..

OP here. I was miserable the last few weeks. I took my prescription Vitamin D yesterday and already feel better. I think I need the dose upped and will call my doc about it.

I had really bad stiffness in my ankles and joints, it turned out to be due to a hyper thyroid. Once on the medication the stiffness went away. Check your thyroid levels with a blood test. I'm 50 and need to/should stretch everyday. Taking dance classes a couple times a week helps motivate me to keep up with the stretching. Not that I manage to do it everyday. But, even 5 minutes here and there helps.

48 and I really don't have any aches and pains. I'm overweight so that can limit somewhat but I am not in any pain. I'm not super limber but I'm working on my flexibility, slowly but surely. And I walk but the weather has really hindered me..
