Really? You have forgotten already? |
| You wish he was done! This is nothing, maybe more will come out but this is a whole lotta nothing to see here. |
How can it possibly be nothing? Btw I think conservatives want him gone more than liberals. |
Not me. Look forward to supporting him, should he decide to run. |
| Serious question: Could anyone be criminally prosecuted for this? The deputy chief of staff? Or the Port Authority goon? |
Criminal? Doesn't sound like it. Who would bring the charges? The state? |
|
I find this whole thing shocking.
Not that Christie and his cronies could be so vindictive, but that they could be so foolish as to right the words in an email. I agree, this will hurt him with moderates. |
Jeff, Jeff, Jeff. Give it up. The next election will be about BENGHAZI and only BENGHAZI. Stop trying to change the subject.

Oddly, I don't see how they are calling this his "first" scandal.
Only a few years ago, they completely blew their Race to the Top application. And the reason was that his office took direct control over the bid and then botched it. He blamed it on Obama, until the actual video came out. It cost the state $400 million. |
I may be the most conservative poster here, Mr. Steele, and I think this is totally indefensible and Christie should pay a huge political price for it. Intentionally causing traffic is per se outrageous. I am a little surprised, however, that so many here are shocked, shocked that this type of payback occurs in New Jersey of all places. My guess is that this type of thing happens all the time by politicians of all stripes. That's the kind of thing that politicians do, although this is more graceless and less justifiable than run of the mill payback. Still, he was bad, he was caught, he should pay the price. Certainly this substantially hurts his presidential ambitions. Can't say I am sad to see that, myself. At least it's not a crime (hi, Mr. Spitzer, who is somehow being rehabiliated -- I hope you share my outrage at that, too, Mr. Steele.) |
|
He's definitely going to pay for this -- and he should. Writing it in an email? Stupid. He should pay for that, alone.
I'm a moderate's moderate, so I'm sad to see this happen. Certainly does the "no bullshit" persona any favors. But if he's got people that stupid/careless in high places, better to know it sooner than later. |
| Hey guys, it was all a misunderstanding - did you see his statement? He had no idea what was being planned through his staff. Poor guy. So taken advantage of. |
There have been other mayors claiming retribution too. This wouldn't be so damaging, except that his whole Schlick is that he ignores politics in order to do right by the people of NJ. |
| Schtick. Damn autocorrect |
If you are "intimately familiar with this area" you know that if the approach to the GWB has any problems at all, it can screw up traffic on the surface streets. That is exactly what happened. The kids weren't even in the traffic waiting to go into NYC, they were on the regular routes just trying to get from one place in Fort Lee to another, and the GWB problem rendered the entire town farkakte. One of the days this happened was the first day of school. Your kindergartner's first time ever on the school bus takes hours, and you wouldn't be pissed about it? Bullshit. |
