| Net worth alone is meaningless. How much of this is yours and how much was inherited/trust fund. |
I believe they mostly lie for a living. |
Actually, inherited/trust fund equals YOURS. So it's not meaningless. |
I assume that you didn't open this post expecting to see that most people on DCUM are broke, did you? |
Um, yeah |
| No, I know DCUM has a fairly wealthy readership and that the wealthy people are more likely to post. Most of these numbers seem reasonable to me. I'm just skeptical of people in their early 30s claiming their net worth is in the millions. A 33 year old with a $2 million net worth has a net worth 240 times the average for her age. Even an extremely high income won't get you there if you have any debt. I feel like some people are either lying or forgetting to subtract their debt from their assets. |
| Of our 1.8million we earned 1 million ourselves. The other is from a trust. |
| me 42, dh 45. around 3.5m. |

It's not like this same question hasn't been posted at least a thousand times on this forum.
So why again? |
Yeah, I guess that's a fair point. If I'd started with an $800,000 trust, I suppose my net with actually would have been similar at that age. |

I am of the poors. Both hubby and I didn't inherit squat. We earned it the hard way, worked for it.
Net worth 1.2 million, both 50, NO DEBT. |
35 year old w 6 mil here. Most inherited from parents who died young. How is it not mine ? My name is on the accounts. Lucky in some ways, not so much in others. |
Congrats on your success. Not sure why you need to cut down those who inherit. It wasn't like it was my choice. I'd kill to have my parents back. And DH and I both work, as well. - 6 mil pp |
You open them because you might get something out of them though seemingly irrelevant. |
Because they need to pump their nads and give themselves a big reach around... Or they simply have nothing better to do... |
