Which company do you use to send your food/fruit basket or food related gift during the holidays?

Harry & David and its related company, Wolferman's.

I'm in Alexandria Va. We have limited freezer/fridge space and we go grocery shopping once per week for foods to eat during that week.

We just really dont have enough room to stock up a few weeks in advance and I was hoping to avoid having to go into the grocery store once the baby arrives with a 2 yr old and a newborn.

What? Your husband can't go to the store once a week?

Ignore the rude poster.

Here are some ideas:

Harry and David-BEST pears ever!! Their cheddar cheese is good too.

NYNaturals-if you are a fan of dehydrated Kale chips

USWellness meats-never used them, but heard they good grassfed beef, etc-burgers come raw I think

Zingermans- has great bread and they will mail it, but I haven't eaten there in ages

Zabars

You could also look into options like Diettogo which I think delivers. They occasionally offer samples at the gym I use and I though the food tasted nice. There are also plenty of "chefs for hire" in the area.Usually they want to prep the meal in your home, but some will bring it to you already prepared.

Good luck! Hope the delivery goes smoothly !

I used to be a lobbyist for the catalogue industry so I know there are many different companies that can help you out. But you know what? The shipping costs (unless you have a coupon code for free shipping) are astronomical. If I were you, I would order online groceries from Giant, Safeway, wherever you shop and have the items delivered to you (they'll even put them in a basket if you want). You can save your order history so that you can do the ordering once a week and have the stuff delivered. You'll save yourself a lot of money (you can get coupons for free delivery from Safeway, Giant, etc.). Or, you could pay a neighbor high school or college kid to do this for you. You'll still save money doing it that way.

I like the idea OP. My worry is different from everyone else's -- if you BF, your baby might not do OK with dairy right away. I'd hold off.

I think most people these days just go ahead and eat whatever unless there is a history of severe food allergies in the family. You can always cut out dairy if you need to later but most babies are misdiagnosed with food allergies.

Am the PP. I agree with you, she can cut the dairy later. My only point was that she may not want to PAY for food without knowing. My child got eczema all over from dairy and I barely eat it, had no family history of it and was clueless. (and it went away with time)

Ordering from Peapod by Giant is a good idea.

I use it every now and again for cat litter, cleaners, paper goods but it is a good idea in your circumstances.

Plus, I don't think it's crazy at all to order yourself a great gift basket! You deserve it!

OP- try washingtons green grocer. You won't be disappointed. Produce is great and you can add all kinda of yummy extras- bread, cheese, pantry stuff

My post wasn't rude. It was to find out more information to better answer her question.

You should continue to avoid it then since your bizarre detector is wonky.
