I eventually ended up with that without meaning to, had good instinct. At the time friends said I could do better, that I was reaching below my level. 20 years on, he is rising and has become massively good looking( no more nerd with suspenders) and I am on my way down. I do not have low self esteem, and I don't need to fakely think I'm all that either. I am middle age so I'm being realistic. He has increasingly got better looking since our 20's. When we met he was overweight, badly dressed, with a terrible haircut. But now he is tailored suits, washboard stomach, a mature face handsome and so on. Now, I get complements all the time by friends and strangers about how good looking he is. I can honestly say he is mostly unaware of his looks. He has gotten better looking than I am. You all would think I am lazy and he's an idiot if you knew all the things he has done for me. totally depends on what I feel like doing. sometimes it's getting out to national park for a hike or just to breath some fresh air, or puttering around the national mall, hitting the trails in N.VA or Mt. Vernon. for fun, the restaurant scene in DC is not too bad and so many places to try. from time to time, catch a show at the K-Center, Blues Alley or Bohemian Caverns, etc. and sometimes just feel like staying local in Arlington too isn't a bad thing. even though I'm not into the club/bar scene, there's just a lot going on in this town that there's no 'routine' weekend.

In my experience these men got picked up early. They aren't extinct. I know because I married one. He's incredible but all of his exes took advantage of him.
