If your income is in the high $500,000 how my do you charge each month on your credit cards?

So you buy your groceries with a check? Or a debit card?

Bag of quarters, perhaps?

Obama is talking about income inequality. I don't see it.

So you pay your Ritz hotel after a 6 night stay in a suite on the club level with $11,000 in cash? I just don't see it. Charging everything and then paying the balance in full every month is better than cash, because then you get the big ole rebate check from the credit card company while you use their money every month. Not to mention the consumer protections available on a cc.
There's a lot I don't like about Obama, but I don't see your point here.

You spend $9k a month not including mortgage, utilities, cars, etc - that's just every day spending?

yes, at 500k a year, take home is about 30k a month. So, you still have 20k a month to spend.

Ugh, I think I was behind you in line last week at the grocery store.
And for gas, you actually walk up to the little booth and pay? Or do you go in and grab a Slim Jim?

20K a month extra is nothing. I swim in 20K ones nightly. The smell of wealth is intoxicating.

I think we should add in our net worth.

We put everything on AmEx though. Medical, etc.

Same here. Our actual income is probably just below $400K. We put everything possible on AmEx -- from groceries to 3x week speech appointments. No revolving credit.

I'm not the OP but you can put some "utilities" on credit cards. We put all telecom expenses, for instance, on a credit card every month. Car insurance too. Anything you can pay for w/a cc w/o a monthly fee, we charge. We also pay off each month, but get thousands of points/month on our credit cards for doing this.

I also put everything on an airline mileage card. In fact, I'd be better off paying fees the way the mileage program works. We fly alot but never get to 9k unless it includes a big item like annual homeowners, car insurance, etc. I pay it off in full each month.

and using the debit card costs me money because I get no points and free flights.

We use debit cards. Are you unfamiliar with those?

Everyone loves freebies. Oprah would cut you if you took the last crab puff sample at Dean and Deluca.

I've extracted the very essence of wealth into an intoxicating new eau de parfum. It is $100,000 per oz. Are you interested?
