| I agree with the PP. Personally, I would rather have to wait and my transfer be less convenient for me than have a doctor/embryologist running around to accommodate my schedule and potentially risking quality control. |
Must be "you." I was treated there 4 years ago and had a wonderful nurse (Pam). I came back this year for a second child and Pam was no longer available (she is in charge of shared donor eggs programs now - or some like it), but as I was coming out the elevator the other day, she was coming in and began talking. I was SHOCKED she remembered my name! I am always very well treated there by the supporting staff and techs - although I fully realize they only know my name because of the file. But honestly, I don't really care... I only care about getting out of there with a baby (again!). |

A nurse not being on the ball can affect the success of your cycle, so while I can do without the hand-holding, I expect her to get me instructions timely such that we're not compromising the cycle (we had to skip the scrapings last time because she got me the schedule the day before I started meds, I had a poor lining and cancelled transfer, this time they're insisting on the scrapings as if they're the holy grail - I was the one who wanted them last time). I also expect her to schedule my FET the day she knows my period, not a week later, when she knows the calendar is already filling up. And here's where compassion plus my paying money comes in--waiting is TORTURE, she knows I've been through a traumatic DE miscarriage, a cancelled transfer (which may have gone better if she'd been on the ball), waiting an extra month for the transfer is a BIG DEAL. Getting a negative beta at Christmas is a big deal when originally I was told I'd be transferring mid-November. All she had to do was reserve a date. She jumped on it quick enough after I called the practice manager, she could have just gotten on it the first day I asked and we wouldn't have had to fight about it.
I've never heard of people being treated like numbers at DMV at the better clinics. Yes they're more expensive (which is why I'm not there) but we're not paying SG chump change. Anyway, I take great satisfaction from knowing that if this cycle doesn't succeed, though I'll be very sad, at least SG will lose money on me when I get my refund and move on. |
If the nurse knows this, she should be on the ball about scheduling it. Not wait several days. |
| You get what you pay for, SGF is WalMart while other clinics like CFA are Neimen Marcus! |
lol, I take it you've never been to Neimens or Walmart? |
Or to CFA? CCRM=Neiman Marcus, yes, CFA, no way. And $30K is not chump change no matter where you're paying it. |
| I'm a former SG nurse and I can tell you hilarious stories of how we make fun of your outrageous expectations....try dealing with cancer, heart disease, or a tragic accident. Infertility patients are the craziest, "entitled' group of bitches I have ever encountered, it is not a god given "right" to have a child and many of you only think of your own needs which means you will be terrible parents. |
Straight from the horses' mouth, we hear the attitude of SG nurses. The "former" in your post gives me some minimal comfort. |
| Trolls.... |
| I just scheduled with SG for a frozen DE cycle. The transfer is planned two months from now. Granted you need time to get your lining up but geez. |
