OP, if you are trying to lose fast I highly recommend doing the South Beach diet. At your weight I bet you lose 10-15 pounds in the first two weeks (the most restrictive weeks). Personally I do SBD and track on weight watchers. It's amazing how fast you lose if you really do cut out all the processed carbs.
Good luck! |

I am going to continue WW, thanks though.
The reason I chose WW is because diets like SB, remove groups of foods that are (in reality) just a part of modern life. WW shows me that I can eat crappy foods sometimes, but in moderation. I think it is diets that emliminate whole groups of food are kinda counter productive, seeing as processed foods are a reality and it is better to just learn how to eat them healthily than to run and hide from them. To the other PP, I have been walking/jogging for my workouts. Usually a 30 mins is 2 walks around my neighborhood and through the park. |
| Hi OP, try adding a couple weight-lifting sessions each week. You will build lean muscle mass, which will in turn burn more calories. I personally did not see significant weight loss with cardio (walking, running) alone unless I go REALLY hard. You don't need to belong to a gym; you can start by doing body-weight exercises like pushups (try against a wall if you're just starting out), squats, lunges. If you're pressed for time, maybe try a workout like Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. It incorporates weight-lifting intervals with cardio and you're done in 30 minutes. Good luck to you! |
