Move? No. Open a second store? Absolutely.

There's parking behind it, and probably hundreds of families within walking distance including our's!

and fwiw, I don't think the Lyon Village shopping center is "beautiful". It has good stores, but has all the appeal of any bland strip mall.

No one would ever say the LV center is beautiful, but if you want to get to the store, you will be able to park to do an after-work grab. It's at a major intersection for people going to/from work. For some unfathomable (to me) reason, the Italian Store is also a destination store. Westover isn't really set up for that kind of traffic.

Agree parking will be annoying but the lot behind the strip of stores is actually pretty good sized. My understanding is that the new Italian store would be an additional location, NOT a move, and that it may not have the full market like the LV location. I can't imagine lost dog being a huge competitor -- Italian store is so much better, but also lost dog is much more of a sit down restaurant while Italian store is all takeout. I think there is plenty of business in the area to support both.

The Italian Store is adding a location, not moving.

Townhouses store going into 1000 block of N Kensington

Second Italian Store is opening in Westover on 2014.

Looks like the apartment are vacant now. Wonder how long it will be before they tear them down.

PHEW! My heart was racing there for a minute. My 5 min walk would turn into 50 minutes driving over and looking for a parking spot.

Townhouses would be great there - it's an awesome neighborhood and the SFH's can be pretty expensive.

Italian Store would be awesome, too. I love Lost Dog/ Stray Cat, but would be cool to walk to Italian Store too.

People who live in Westover are too smart to incorrectly use and over-use the word "awesome." You may not enter the Beer Garden until you promise to stop using awesome, unless you are genuinely struck with awe over catnip dip from the Stray Cat

Italian Store is coming. They already own the 7-11 location. They're renting back to 7-11. It will be a second location not a move of the original.

Uh oh. Looks like the assholes have entered Westover. Not so awesome.

Hopefully they tear down all those old apartments which are the Achilles heel of prosperity for that area

Yes - let's get rid of the 'poors'. Mixed income housing is what makes Arlington vibrant. Where do you think those in those apts will go? Far from you, you hope?

That is up for debate. Notice how the north is not very mixed but is sought after...

The "beautiful" strip mall? Time to upgrade it. Absolute waste of a pretty good location.
