Disney Channel shows- do you let your kids watch?

Nope. She knows some of the music, thanks to a Disney dancing video game, but she's never seen the actual shows.

Shake it Up - some boy/girl stuff, but reminds me more of "I Love Lucy," than anything else. Don't hate this one.
Kickin' It -- hated this -- total boyfriend/girlfriend stuff, dishonesty, and let's not forget racial stereotyping
ANT Farm-- harmless and funny
Hannah Montana - OVER MY DEAD BODY

My kinda mom -- this is pretty much my list

ANT Farm?? The parents are especially moronic.

Austin and Ally has a little romance thing, but the kids have jobs and work hard. My 11 year old watches that one.

How do you control what your kids watch so closely? Do they only watch while you are in the room?

Im a nanny and the family I are for has banned Disney channel (but is okay with Dis JR) for their kid. Daughter age 7.

I grew up without cable, then had access to the Disney Channel in grad school - I watched a few of the shows and no way would I let my kids watch Disney shows. It's like normal TV minus the cursing. It's a false sense of morality. If all you are about is your kid not picking up on curse words, then Disney's fine, but if you care about your kid being kind, caring, honest, service-oriented, then Disney's not for you.

I used to LOVE Green Acres!
Greeeeeeeeen Acres is the place to be! Faaaaaaaaarm living is the life for me! Thanks for the walk down memory lane.

You're welcome! The old shows used to be nice and innocent ones, today's shows are....well....you know...

The only Disney show they watch is Phineas and Ferb. My oldest is 6. My sister already warned me about the other Disney shows. She cancelled cable after catching her 8 year old watching iCarly. Now they only Netflick.

OP here. Netflix is how she watches them at home. Or at a friend's house. Or at school.

Also the stereotyping -- head shaking little black girl and the obviously fake accent of the little indian boy with a lizard named Rudyard Kipling
DONE

We do some Shake it Up
Still do Ant Farm, but that may because I have not watched enough episodes to have caught on to the offensive stuff

This is exactly why I don't let my son watch Jessie. I could not believe the racial stereotypes they're perpetuating on this show! I do let him watch Good Luck Charlie and Kickin' It and Austin & Ally and Lab Rats. He hasn't shown interest in the others mentioned on here. Oh, I forgot The Suite Life and Dog with a Blog. I outlawed those because they're particularly inane.

Wow. Sorry that was so unclear. They only have Netflicks and they are not allowed to watch any Disney tv. She has her kids hooked on Dr. Who.

I wish I'd known and put a stop to it before she'd seen them. I wish that there were better live action alternatives for kids who don't like cartoons.

National Geographic Channel, HGTV, Food Network, Animal Planet - all these are popular in our house.
