My French neighbor in NW named her daughter 'Louise'. When she told me while she was pregnant-- I wasn't crazy about it. Once the baby was here- I found it adorable. 'Baby Louise'--cutie.
Ugly name
My great grandmother's name was Louise (French ancestors) and I love that name. It is beautiful, classy, and a fun name also.
I know a baby Louise and she's adorable and it fits! Go for it.
I prefer Louisa. Louise just sounds sooo old lady like.
What about Lou instead of Lulu?
+1 |
I think Louise is pretty. I think Lulu is a little too cutsey and what you might name a dog (sorry!!!!). But Lou or even Lula could be nice. (I can't explain why Lulu sounds too "precious" to my ear, but Lula does not.) I knew a Weezie, too. She was pretty, rich, and preppy, and the name just fit her.
It's in the Agnes/Eunice category to me.
Eloise is cute. Louise is ok. Lulu doesn't pass the "boss" test.
Weezie is a common nickname. Think Jeffersons.
|
Love Josephine. Nice choice.
I think Eloise or Louisa sound a bit fresher but I could see Louise growing on me. I don't care for the nickname Lulu at all. |
Louise is not to my personal liking, but I LOVE Louisa.
Love it! Its on our list with the same nickname!!!
blech. Like Mabel, Hazel and other old lady names that are back in style so the parents can feel like they gave their kid a "classic" name.
