NO!!!!!!!!! This is the church, we are zoned for (yeah, it's weird, but true) and they are by far so darn strict and conservative it's ridiculous and I'm thinking of changing. Try Our Lady of Good Counsel in Vienna. Also at St. James for some reason they can't do a mass less than 1hr 15 minutes.

Wow, two whole pages with anti-Catholics piping to say something rude...how nice.

+1 on Holy Trinity

So basically people are saying either St. Charles in Arlington, My Lady Queen of Peace in Arlington or Our Lady of Good Counsel in Vienna. I guess I will just deal with my parish church (St. Ambrose) if there is nothing out there close to me that is more liberal. The vienna one is a little too far and so are the ones in Arlington. BLAH.

+1 for Nativity in Burke.

They are very focused on social justice. They love everyone. I bet they were saying "who am I to judge" before it was cool.

What exactly do you mean by a liberal Catholic Church. You will find no Catholic Church, no matter how liberal, that supports any if your issues publicly. You may find many individual priests who are not judgmental, but they cannot tell you that any of those things are within in the Catholic moral tradition. By the way, if you believe that the Catholic Church eschews evolution you obviously did not attend Catholic school.

As for the Episcopal Church, here is an interesting commentary from Fr. Robert Barron:

How long was Jesus on the cross? I think you can spare and 1hr and 15 minutes per week.

Growing up, my family fled St. Tim's after a particularly nasty sermon about the first Gulf War and found a social-justice, Vatican II-type community at St. John Neumann's in Herndon.

Catholicism is not a la carte. Why bother attending mass when so many of your beliefs contradict fundamental Catholic positions?

Spoken like the child of a Catholic Mother, now a Catholic mother herself! Thanks for the laugh.

St. John's is in reston, near Herndon. I go there too. Agree with the above description.

Because Mass is for the sinners, not for the saints.
