Does this apply to new nonprofits as well?

we know that onservatives enjoy the misery of others. But you aren't supposed to say it out loud.

I think you are a liar. I don't think this is making your healthcare unaffordable. Nobody loves when their healthcare is unaffordable.

So, you are a liar who takes pleasure in the misfortune of others. In other words, you are a real winner.

HR person here. DC should not force an exchange on us. Obamacare does not require that. It's DC we need to convince.

You told us a lot of things. Still waiting for one of them to come true.

I read it, I don't see where it says small businesses are required to use the exchange, just that it is open to these businesses.

Last October, the D.C. Health Benefit Exchange Authority board voted unanimously on a small business mandate that requires individuals covered by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, as well as small businesses not offering health insurance as of Dec. 31, 2013, to buy coverage exclusively through the D.C. exchange. Small businesses that currently offer coverage will be required to use the exchange in 2015. Similarly, Vermont passed a law last year that would require all small businesses with 50 or fewer employees to buy coverage only in that state's public exchange. In 2016, Vermont's definition of small employers will change to businesses with 100 or fewer employees.

There should be an option to join. Hope they get this worked out. Why didn't DC just join the federal exchange?

Do you think congress will over turn this?

Does anyone know how much the people on the exchange get paid? I looked over the website but could not find any info. I saw the fees they will charge.

I have a catastrophic policy for my family that I pay for. It was 459 per month and was just raised to 695. That is fact. When thousands and thousands with preexisting conditions, kids to age 26, etc. are deemed "must cover", then the cost has to be allocated to the other policy holders. It is no longer insurance, but rather "cost sharing". The increases are not limited to personal policies, but all of those provided by business to their employees. This will diminish jobs and lessen wages to the whole. Saying healthcare is becoming unfordable to many like myself is not make me a liar or one who takes pleasure on others misfortune, it is simply the unintended (but predictable) consequence of this bill. The exact outcome that was predicted by Republicans but clearly refuted by Obama who said it would lower costs. Time will tell, this is just the beginning of the process of finding out what is in the bill now that the bill was first passed.

I agree. And, because my spouse worked way, way beyond 65 to ensure a comfortable retirement, our Medicare and cost share is going up, too.
