What are your favorite kitchen appliances?

I know it's a larger appliance, but I love my ge profile dishwasher. I LOVE the fact that I actually have to bend over to listen closely to figure out if it is on or off. The silence is amazing.

Since folks are including major appliances, would have to be the wok burner on my range.

I have the same one. The problem is that it is so quiet, dh is always opening it mid cycle to put a dish in not realizing it is running.

Yes, sodastream! Is that an appliance though? It doesn't plug in.

Also my electric kettle, my coffee grinder (use both every day), my hand mixer and my slow cooker.

Tell me all the great things about a Vitamix because I just can't justify the expense. What's the difference between it and a Blendtec?

I don't know what a Blendtec is, but I LOVE my Vitamix. We used to juice a lot - but juicers throw out the healthiest part of the fruits and vegetables. And you can't really make good veggie drinks besides carrot/beet juice.

I use my Vitamix daily to make veggie drinks. I really don't like sweet fruit smoothies, but I love savory veggie drinks. I always use tomatoes or carrots as a base, then add everything from cukes, spinach, kale, chili peppers, bell peppers, celery, broccoli, beets. I add water and ice and it just pulverizes everything into a smooth, pulp-free drink. You can make it as thick or thin as you like by just adding more water. A regular blender couldn't do that. DH and I drink one every day for breakfast and we get at least 5 whole veggies in for the day. It fills me up until lunch. You can make soups in it too. DH and DD make lots of fruit smoothies too.

There is a dry grind attachment which is good for grinding whole spices - which we do in our house for Indian cooking (DH is from India and in-laws come for extended periods of time).

It is very expensive, but like I said, we use it daily.

Vitamix, cuisinart food processor, kitchen aide mixer, immersion blender. Villaware waffle iron. I also LOVE my cuisinart ice cream maker (Nutella gelato anyone??).
Not an appliance per se, but my OXO mandolin.

KitchenAid hands down! You can make fresh pasta, whipped cream, sausage, etc. It is indispensable!!

Love my Bosch dishwasher. Use every cycle every week, it's so quiet I would marry it if I could. I am happy every time I do dishes now.

Things I couldn't live without are the food processor (am going to need a new one soon but am not sure we have space to store the larger one) and coffee grinder. Things I didn't think I needed but am happy to have are hand mixer and immersion blender.
