Lifetime in Reston

Anonymous
Lifetime is a ripoff, I think. I just quit my membership at the Rockville-Potomac location. It was $91/mo for an "onyx" level club. Not sure what that means, but their selection of cardio and weight equipment is outdated compared to other clubs in the area, and wet areas in locker rooms were often dirty. Not to mention rude front desk employees. Buh bye.

I'm a member in sterling, the facility is the best but management is very poor. Free towels is great but I work out in the evenings and they run out 1 of 3 trips. The child care is a big TV and computer games (at a gym!!!!!) . Complaints get a promise to check it out and no call back. I put up with it because no one offers a facility similar (it's $140, couple + 2 kids) in the area though I frequently think about going back to sport & health. I live near Reston and was hopeful too but it looks like the same management is running it and just doesn't care about the customers as long as the credit card clears. When I went to visit I actually saw some of the sterling staff working the sales center. This area really could use a nice gym with good management at a realistic price but unfortunately it doesn't look like Reston is it. I'm with the others, I could afford it but to pay over $200 would make me feel like a sucker. At least it won't be crowded......

I'm in sterling too. Do you take ypur kids in the evening? I never inderstand how people have time for this. I'm a faithful 530am person.

Kids go on weekends, so tv is a non issue since my kids are already in so many sports.

I've never seen a towel shortage, but then again i won't come within a3 mile radius of that whole area between 430-630 pm.

When did Centreville become Platinum? I just went to re-sign and was surprised at $130/mo for myself + two kids. Seemed like a lot to me when I paid $90/mo there 1.5-2 years ago.

Anyone ever heard of those One Life Fitness places? My friend pais $45/mo for herself + two kids. Crazy. It's certainly no Lifetime but it's group classes and gym equipment.

Centreville was upgraded maybe two years ago?

Fairfax was also horribly managed. I dropped my membership three years ago and haven't looked back.

They've started running ads on WTOP, saying "over $100"

Well, over $200 is over $100.

I usually don't take the kids in the evening. My DH and I take turns, putting the kids to bed and the other sneaks out to the gym. The towel (and general cleanliness) problems are acute after around 6:30. Our kids go with us on the weekends and they don't need exercise per say with all the team sports but when the TV is off they play tag, run around, shoot hoops, play dodgeball etc. Just fun informal games. I just think 2 hours of TV is not a good thing. Lifetime uses it as an electronic valium.....

I wish somebody would open a nice, well equipped gym with good management (for less than $200 per family). Lifetime appears to miss on all levels....

Opens Sep 12th.

$220 per month for a couple. Kids add $30 per kid for 2 hours a day or $90 for 3 hours (includes activities).

So for us, (2+2) its between $280 and $400 per month. I think they're trying to sell a spa rather than a gym.

I wonder how many fools will part with their money....

That is just stupid. I'm a huge LTF fan and do not see the problems people describe on here, I have been very happy with LTF in Loudoun. However, no way in hell would I spend the $280 it would cost my family. If they try to pull that shit out in the Ashburn, we'll take ourselves right over to Golds, it's closer anyways.

I hate to say it, I do not wish them any luck.

Scheduled to open next Friday. Apparently they're not getting the suckers they wanted. They haven't lowered the rates yet but they're waiving all the initial fees and offering $300 "LT Bucks" for PT & such.....

They've got to get the rates below $200 (and that is 50% more than anyone else) for a family to fill the seats

The lifetime in centreville is nice. No complaints other than the cost.

Very confusing membership tiers. I paid $80 for platinum at centreville, another member just paid $55 with some govt. employee discount. Memberships options are confusing and standard rates are never advertised.
