if you think you have stubble, i gaurantee you no one can see it. your co-workers and strangers are not THAT close to you, i hope. and what you think is stubble is probably that pore-ish look legs can get. it is not bad.
but if you want to be covered, buy well made stockings made by wolford. an aha or bha body lotion may help with the chicken-skin/pore effect which im sure isnt even as bad as you think. |

and yes, they are worth the price

I am forty four yrs old so I remember the days when pantyhose used to look fashionable. I wore pantyhose to church as a young girl and would feel so proud that I was a big girl due to my hose.
Now...not so much. I think leggings and tights look hip, but not so much pantyhose. Esp. those 80's fishnet ones. LOL. I suggest you use a self~tanner on your legs. Try Jergens since it lets you tan gradually so you aren't white one day, then brown the next. Good Luck. |
| OP here, thanks everyone! |
| OK, what about your feet? Don't you find your shoes uncomfortable with no hose? |
Good question! |
| I have mostly ceased wearing hose for work skirts and dresses, and self tan instead like pps. But personally i have drawn the line on days when i have to be more formally dressed, and wear a business suit with skirt. I hate it. surely there is still a lot of nude hose going on in more conservative offices - like law firms?? or can i give up the hose with suits too? |
|
Personally, I wouldn't wear hose with open toed shoes or dressy sandals. There is just something incongruous about free-footed shoes with hose. But I feel the same way about pumps and a formal suit for work. Bare legs just look a bit tacky and bare feet stuffed into closed-toe pumps feel gross to me.

| Skanky. |
| OP, I bought leg makeup today, and I feel like a new woman! I've never managed to use self-tanner in a way that looked natural. I either didn't spread it evenly, or there were dark patches where my skin is thicker/calloused, like my knees and the front of the ankle-- even after pumicing like crazy. The leg makeup looks awesome, goes on easily, and hasn't rubbed off on anything all day. |
I must try to work this quote into conversation today. Now. Before breakfast. |

I prefer to wear hose when I am not really tan or if I have mild bruise on my leg. The only ppl I see wearing hose at parties are the ones that are really really fit and tan.
I think the very very sheer fish nets are edgy and look great as an alternative. I would never think anything if someone was pale and wearing no hose. I just cringe when ladies don't wear hose and open toe shoes in the dead of winter. Looks ridiculous to me. |
For sure. That is hilarious. I haven't worn hose in I don't know how long. Tights in the winter, yes. Hose? For the love of god, no. |
| I wear a very good quality ones with my professional clothes, dresses and skirts. If the color of hoses correctly selected, it looks better than bare legs. Another reason, I always feel cold in the office, and these keep me comfortable. I select very sheer pantyhose, with a tone that would be pretty much invisible on my legs. |
