Originally from Southern California, so I consider myself to be a Mexican food snob. District Taco is by far the best Mexican food I've had in this area. Their carnitas are SO good!

Taco Bar near Rio (don't be put off by the setting)
Tortacos (owner/employees are very nice there)
Food trucks outside of DMV in Gaithersburg (1st one is a favorite)
