Nor is it fraud for grandma, grandpa, nanny, aunt, uncle to pick a child up. These are your kids friends and classmates you want to report. There is no reason to assume they or their parents have done something wrong.

Actually it is fraud unless the kid's parents have joint custody. Residency is where the kid lives, not where a non-custodial parent lives.

Couldn't the custodial parent live in DC but the non-custodial parent pick the kid up once in a while?

Is there a fraud sheet? Please do post it. I have a real family I need to report. They are using an address I know for a fact to be false-- friends of theirs live there. And the mother works for the DC government, so yes, its legitimately a total scam. Where is this form?

It's also not fraud if the parent picking him up is the one without custody.

Judging by the sheer number of license plates, you would think that some DCPS schools are in MD not DC. It is maddening when you read the posts of disappointed DC parents whose kids did not fare well in the lottery.

OP here. It was not an official MD police vehicle; it was a female driver of a private car with MD Fraternal order of Police affinity tags.

Since when is having someone pick up your kids evidence of residency fraud? Heck, plenty of people would pay an FOP affiliate from any jurisdiction to pick up their kid if it's a better price than the going rate for DC nannies with drivers licenses.

If it isn't residency fraud, then there is no harm in reporting them and having it investigated, right?

Who in their right mind would live in Maryland and send their children to school in Washington, DC?

My god, this whole thread is giving me serious deja vu.

Don't you people know how to use the search function??

Report them and let the process play out. It's really not that difficult and requires little of the supposed cheater to prove they're legit. Stop reigniting this tired topic on DCUM instead of doing a real service to everyone and contact the hotline.

OK, can you post the number for the hotline, please?

I think it is not surprising that this topic is coming up again now as their are hundreds of heart-broken families in DC, particularly Capitol Hill, looking at their wait list numbers, and families who have gone to some of these schools who know a good portion of the students are from out of state.

This post amazes me. I would never want to enrol my child in a DC school. Even the lower end Montgomery county schools would be a better choose then DC.

Already in process - with a photo of the car and license plate.
