| Love maxi dresses!! Would love it if the OP would post links too! |

OP here! Glad I'm not the only one. Let's begin the photo tour, shall we?
... with the caveat that one of my requirements is SLEEVES. Maxis with sleeves are few and far between, but maxis with sleeves that aren't too bohemian and floppy (with a length of at least 58" and in a fabric that won't cling and show lumps) are like unicorns. So, I buy first and ask questions later. 1. First, I'm obsessed with this one, but alas, it's not in my size: http://tinyurl.com/ck68zfo 2. I bought this in coral, but I suspect the fabric will be too thin: http://tinyurl.com/c334t7d 3. I bought this in blue: http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=93418&vid=1&pid=351465002 4. I bought this because I love the shape, but the lace might be too formal or mother-of-the-bride: http://tinyurl.com/a8t5msy 5. I bought this, but it could read nightgown: http://tinyurl.com/ctb6ttj 6. I did NOT buy this one. The shape is exactly what I want, but why in the hell would anyone use this fabric?! Hideous. http://tinyurl.com/c2lzend And I liked the print on these so much, I got them to wear with a jean jacket: 7. http://tinyurl.com/arm2prm 8. http://tinyurl.com/b849kjx And because everyone likes pictures, here are some I already own. 9. I love this one from Alloy in principle but have never worn it. It feels too "pow!" for anywhere I go: http://i46.tinypic.com/352er7c.jpg 10. This is my current favorite. It just fits perfectly (with a cami). It's from Torrid. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41Uyi49C8LL.jpg 11. Here's my favorite fall maxi. (Yes, it's me again, still wishing others would post pics.) http://i49.tinypic.com/66b686.jpg Nitpick away! |
| I am not a fan of the maxi dress. I do squats and lunges all winter, so I want to show my legs off...not hide them. |
| I love them too! Have you ordered from the company NEXT before? They ship USA right? |
OP, are your initials JC, by chance? If you are my friend who frequently wears maxis, you can pull them off, they are great on you!
|
| I like them & love the idea of having my legs covered, but I find I don't pick them out of my closet much because they are a bit cumbersome to wear ... |
| i like you, OP. enjoy your maxi dresses and ignore the haters. |
| I wish I could pull off the maxi dresses! But I'm short and curvy and they don't do me any favors ... |
OP, I was with you until you showed what kind of maxis you like.... |
Yes, they ship here, and their return address is domestic also, so no problems.
Nope, not JC, unfortunately.
Will do. Thanks.
So show me ones you like! There are so many types and styles, I'm curious what others gravitate toward. So many of the high-end ones look like what insane bag ladies would wear. |
|
Stop. Just stop.
These dresses look awful. They are completely out of place on almost every person and they also look bad on almost everyone. |
| I was with you until you posted the links. I love, love maxi dresses but the ones you like are matronly. Sorry. |
| More links, pls! |
I think maxi dresses look cute, but the problem is that I tend to trip on them and they are usually made of polyester or viscose and just get too hot in DC weather. |
