Me too. It is ridiculous how crazy people get here.

I grew up in NJ and went to college in Massachusetts. And I've lived here for 20 years. The big difference is that DC does not have nearly the same level of snow equipment or response personnel. Folks just don't have the experience of regular snow like New England does. When it snows all the time, everyone learns how to manage it. But here, we go years without a big storm, and then suddenly get slammed.

Me too! Have been sick and that just triggered a dry heaving cough I laughed so hard. Totally worth it.

Heard an interview with Jason Samenow of CWG this morning. A CWG reader/follower named the storm. CWG just went with it. It's a good name, just early in my opinion.

Over hype much! This is another reason to dislike our area.

I can understand closing school for snow but FCPS closes if they even predict snow. Sad.

Plus our Metro system was not built for hot or cold.

I guess we are just like everything else in DC. Fucked up!

I'm bowing to the snow gods! Make it so!

Thank you. EVERY big snow this comes up. I've been in Chicago during a MAJOR storm. They have much more equipment and personel than we do. The streets are cleared quickly with huge piles on the sides. I've also lived briefly in SC and they are worse than us. People thought I was oh so brave driving around in barely anything. It also took forever to get all the roads taken care of.

Well I have 8 inches everyday at my house.

As per snow, no!

SO how much are they forecasting anyway? I saw one prediction of 1-4 inches. If that's it, what's the big deal?

Sheesh. I'm from the deep South and even I understand why they panic here. Nobody has snow tires, and nobody knows how to drive safely in snow. They spin out and endanger everyone. I'm not scared of snow; I'm nervous about driving among all the others whose vehicle is underprepared.
