AAP Screening File

Why should OP resend an email on Wednesday to the AART? AART should reply to first email. If OP doesn't hear back by Wednesday, email the Principal, and cc the AART, and reference the earlier email request. Wait 2 days, then email the Principal's boss. Remember OP is only asking for a file of DCs' files. Not that hard to get together!

Anyone else get the same story? I thought they were available to parents after they were sent. Assuming they have copies at the local schools?

I did get a copy of screening file from AART.No question was asked.

Hi, I am the OP and I haven't posted since the first post of this thread. I responded to the AART with the Parent Referral Packet statement that says parents may request to see the file after it is submitted, and lo and behold, now there IS a file at the school available that I may view. Not sure what the point of the run around was.

Is she new to FCPS and possibly not as well-versed in the policy as she should be? Trying to be charitable here. I emailed my school's AART on Friday knowing she wouldn't be back there until today. She emailed me earlier this afternoon that a copy of the file will be ready for me tomorrow (or Thursday if there's a snow day). That's what I would expect from any AART.

Do you know where it says it in the packet that we can get it now? I looked, but must be missing it. Getting pushback from my school too.

It's at the bottom of page 7 of the Parent Information Packet.

I was told I need to wait until end of month,

What school? I am trying to figure out if I should bug the AART about this. She's pretty standoffish to start with....

You should insist on a copy and be prepared to call Dr Horn's office if you don't get it. We had it for appeal.

Our AART wouldn't let us see the file or know the GBRS until after the decisions came in. I tried to press the issue, but she got hostile and accused me of trying to influence the process. I decided to let it go.
