Does anybody know what's going on with Haycock AAP boundry?

PP, that's why they are rezoning. The plan is to keep the modular. Brilliant, huh? Buold a school not big enough for all of the students and then rezone not to get a bigger building but to put the kids outside again.

I'm glad they are not building the mega school. Students suffer when they are in large schools. The only school in the area bigger is Spring Hill, and that is not ideal. I hope the school population doesn't go over 850. Any more than that and they should rezone. We shouldn't have Lemon Road 2 miles away with 300 students, and Franklin Sherman with 600, while Haycock has >900.

Sorry, I meant redistrict not rezone.

Well then I guess you won't mind if it's your kids that are rezone?

Lemon Road will not be 300 for long. I predict more boundary shifts from Freedom Hill - in addtion to the AAP Center that will be opening in September.. The rest of the apartments and the rest of the townhouses that were split in last year's boundary change are the most likely.

Haycock and Kent Gardens families should unite and push for Lewinsville to reopen (after a needed facelift) BEFORE they make the current planned updates for the Senior Center. That is the only way to truely decrease the over populated schools in this area. No school has room for more students, we need more schools.

Not quite. Sherman, Kent Gardens, and Churchill Road are projected to be below capacity within the next 5 years.

FCPS projections are useless, though. I cannot comprehend how FCPS can be so off on heir projections.

With the creation of the local level IVs at the remaining cluster one schools, the hope is the center population will decrease over time. If the base population continues to grow, then they will need to redistrict.

If that happens, it happens, but some of the people claiming the base boundaries will be changed are just trying to stir the pot.

It's not that simple. Some redistricted cluster 2 families are planning on buying in the Haycock zone, they are expecting an additional K class next year, more houses are being torn down and rebuilt for families with 3+ kids in the area all the time. The kids will keep coming.

Oh yes, of course, anything perceived as negative about Haycock is people stirring the pot. Of course, Haycock is perfect.

It's a great school, no doubt. But guess what, there are plenty of other great schools around too.

How do you know? Either the county AAP nor school will give me a straight answer.

Am I asking the wrong people? Who is the fianal authority to decide this and where is the policy?

Thanks in advance, please help me to clear this up

I mean now that there are new AAP centers like Lemon Road?

Yes. If you look at fcps.edu the AAP plans are posted. They are not moving any cluster one schools out of Haycock. FS and CB are both cluster one.
