How to Report Out of State DCPS student?

Thanks for asking, OP! You got some helpful advice as well as well as some trolls. At least there's a good process now. Hope you pursue it!

My father remembers a time when teachers and principals would try and convince kids to stay in school.

STAY OUT OF IT - trust me. In my experience, the universe has a way of taking care of things in its own time. And meanwhile, you just don't know the other parents situation - or the child's, and it could be very bad if you interfere (or worsened).

You don't want this negative karma on YOU - somebody watching you and telling on you when you least expect it. That would scare me.

Processes are in place both at DCPS and the charters because non-residents in our schools who are stealing our taxes, and stealing our children's finite educational resources are a documented problem. These official channels should be used and OP (nor anyone else) should not be boogymaned into turning a blind eye. People who defend this head in the sand stuff are likely perpetrators themselves.

This is not a homeless family considering they have multiple addresses. My question is more why if you google them, all their addresses come up in Maryland, their cars are tagged in Maryland but they're claiming DC residency?

Why are you googling them? Why not just report it and let the authorities do their job? If you can use google then you could have certainly used google to find out how to report this scenario. Why bring this topic to this forum? Hasn't it been beaten to death?

Just report them. If they're in the right, providing a drivers license, Pepco bill or the like does not reach the level of "significant stress."

I was googling them to try see why the MD plates in the hoes there'd be something to explain this situation. The only thing that came up were MD addresses so I will report them.

Why is it that a situation that has the biggest impact overall has the smallest staff overseeing it? You remind me of the neighborhood snitch. It is the small things that make you happy or should I say it is the snitching that makes you giddy.

It's the stealing of services when other people desperately need them and legitimately qualify for them

it's not the one kid in 3rd grade that is worrying, it's the 3 siblings that come after that take up all the 3 yr old spots.

OP, go ahead and make the call or fill out the form. The administrators will check their records and do an investigation if needed. Don't worry about homeless kids; there are safeguards in place for them. And don't listen to the crazies on DCUM who either claim that there are no address cheaters or imply that there is something wrong with you.
