If your drive during the day is to get a drink as a reward then you're an alcoholic |
| I imagine that's how my mom started...with a glass or two of wine. Thirt years later, it's more like a bottle. Just don't do it every night. Moderation is key. |
| I an an alcoholic. Before I got sober, I had everyone pretty well fooled that I had only 2-3 drinks a night. I was a master at hiding it. Also, like another poster, looked forward to my "cherry on top" all day long. I'd say I your curious whether your spouse has a an alcohol problem, then they probably do. |
My DH drinks this much and I worry less about the dependency issue and more about cancer and other diseases because alcohol is hard on your body. |

Sounds like he is using alcohol as his primary coping strategy - for stress management, for relaxation.
It isn't healthy but it doesn't make him an alcoholic. |
| Just ask him to go a week without it and see if he can do it. If he pushes back, then Houston, we have a problem. |
| How many beers would 2 or 3 glasses of scotch be? That seems like a lot to me and it also seems as though if you need to ask then you're concerned. |
Uhh, of course I'm concerned. that's why I asked. But I'm a teetotaler. Sort of like asking if someone is a sex maniac if you're a virgin. |
Who said anything about it being my drive during the day? Good lord, people are really fucked up about alcohol. There is nothing wrong with enjoying alcohol at the end of the day. |

Very classy. Perhaps if you had a drink every now and then you wouldn't feel the need to diagnose people on the internet off a few sentences and wouldn't be such an uptight asshole. Cheers! |
cheers! drink it up! |
its the end of the day so I assume you are on #2 |
| I guess you've never traveled to nor lived in Europe. That's a normal day there and it does NOT equal alcoholism. |
