Sorry. I just don't agree. I wear make up everyday too. I even like to make sure my pajamas match and look cute. Maybe I'm high maintanence. That's ok. It brings me joy. I'm also a published scientist in two subjects (more than two publications just to clarify). I feel like I've worked hard enough to grant myself these guilty pleasures without feeling like being superficial is the only part of my personality.

You done and gone ruined it.

I started to grey in my late 20s. I dye my hair every 4 weeks.

I am the same coloring, but I do not look like Megan Fox I sometimes get compared to Rachel Weiz so you know what I look like.

Anyway, my hair started going grey in my early teens and now, at 33, I have to dye it every few weeks. I dye it at home and leave it on for 40 minutes. Highlights don't help much. I've had them before. That helps people with blonde hair more.

Haha well i have her coloring not her face!

I just changed and get my hair professionally dyed and OMG it is so much better and lasts much longer.

Oh, I didn't think you were saying you looked like her (who does?!). I was just joking.

I do have to get it done professionally every now and then because otherwise the color gets too dark, or just too red or something. Also, I can't "change" colors at home and have to stick to the same tones. Anyway, if I get a hair dye intended for greys (like Excellence) and leave it on for 40 minutes, it lasts as long as salon color, at least in my experience. There are salon colors that stay put longer but it doesn't matter since the greys are coming from growth anyway. I prefer getting it done but between the expense and the issue of finding time to even get it done I just end up buying a box and doing it at home. Even when I plan to go to the salon!

I've tried box, but it didn't cover my greys...that said I used semi-permanent so maybe that was my problem.

definitely use permanent for greys, not semi-permanent. I've heard grey hairs are more porous (?) or they are more color resistant, so for me only leaving it on for the maximum time, and permanent color will do.

I've used that one in the pink box before and that one, just like the half dozen other boxes I have used has only covered the greys for maybe a week at a time. For me the difference in the salon and the box is night and day. Maybe my greys are tougher than yours, I'm not just thankful that I only have to do this every 6 weeks and only at the roots!!
