I'm allergic to nickel, and even nickel-free earrings seem to have nickel in the decorative part (not the post/backing). At 2, she won't really be able to tell you what's wrong if her ears start itching her, so you'll need to be on the lookout for any kind of scratching or rash (i get small bumps) constantly. I'd personally stick with sterling silver, and just consider it the cost of doing business. You can find some cheaper ones on Amazon if you just search for sterling silver childrens earrings. |
You could paint clear nail polish on the cheap earrings to protect her skin. |
OP: Claire's is fine. And your 11:27 response is great! |
Lord, you people are TACKY. |
OP, get a good quality one from a jewelry store that does not have a post.
Wearing poor quality might get her to develop an allergy and it will haunt her forever on I have said allergies and it sucks! She should wear cheap jewelry when she's older and will want to look different every 15 minutes. For now, the lesser you touch and exchange the jewelry ye better. Less chance to introduce an infection. |
Consider your noodle baked!! ![]() |
I agree with this poster, OP. I don't have allergies but I am pretty sensitive to cheap metals as well. Keep in mind that her earrings won't come out often. |
Go crawl back under your rock, troll. |
Do you know what I think is TACKY? Judgy bitches like you. |
Not trolling. Everyone knows piercing a toddler's earrings is tacky tacky tacky. It's beyond hideous. Low-class. |
I'll judge you all I want. Piercing a toddler's ears is tacky. Honey Boo Boo tacky. Toddlers and Tiaras tacky. |
And I'll judge you right back, ye olde righteous, classist, likely racist lady. |
Sorry OP!! |
That escalated quickly

I'm a 41 year old man with two daughters whom I MIGHT allow to pierce their ears when they turn 13. I'll admit to having better tastes, yes. Piercing a 2 yo's ears is just awful. |
