Looking for Christmas morning breakfast ideas

OP back. Thanks for the suggestions! I have several links to check out.

I might end up heading over to the house with cold pizza, wine, and soft scrambled eggs.

Like a PP, we put out a big platter with bagels, lox, capers, red onions, dill, and tomatoes. And coffee, bloody marys, and candy canes

I want to eat at your house while my kids and DH can ooh and ahh over all the "real" breakfast foods!

There's a way for that to happen ....
(Maybe not on Christmas ....)

Panettone french toast

I usually make a strata - either savory or sweet (sometimes both) b/c I can assemble it the night before and pop it into the office first thing in the morning.

^^Plus lots of good strong coffee.

OP again. Thanks all! I think my husband is really interested in the Paula Deen French Toast casserole. Has anyone made it with Challah, or just the french bread as it is written? DH is pretty sure he's seen her make this on her show and she actually jokes about the amount of butter used.

Get a huge pot (I use a big le creuset). Pour in:

1 bottle champagne
16 eggs
4 cloves
1 gallon half and half
crumble in one panettone
vanilla pod
crumble in 10 rashers turkey bacon
2 cups of light brown sugar
4 sticks of cinnamon
3 cups strong continental coffee

Heat gently while stirring with a twig of douglas fir.

Serve in a trough.

Delish!

Made this last year and it was awesome. The blueberry syrup is delicious!

Turkey bacon? Philistine. Use venison sausage.

Also, the champagne and the half and half would never work together. Instead, whip equal portions heavy cream and egg whites into a frothy sweet meringue, and use that to top the breakfast once in the trough.

Sprinkle liberally with cinnamon and espresso grounds, and maybe a *HINT* of nutmeg.
