| if limbs are over your property you can cut them at will. stop being so silly. |
Way to go OP!! This confirms why I think organized religion is a total farce. Thanks for solidifying that opinion. |
| And this is why I made sure all trees were cut down on the tear down new build . Love the grass and no leaves and falling trees |
Why is it silly? My neighbors had a huge dead tree that would have hit our home, but the limbs were not over us. They purchased the house WITH the dead tree but refused to remove it. We finally paid and now it is gone, which I'm very thankful of -- but I can't help agreeing with those who say don't buy property you can't maintain. |
We live in a free country. People can do whatever they want, and you can judge whoever you want. |
She could have sued to force the other people to remove the tree. She didn't, which was probably the decent thing to do. It still makes the other people bad actors. |
| Yes because when you lose a job, experience a paycut, have a medical expense or other unfortunate incident you should be shamed if you cannot afford to cut down a tree. Let's all hand out section 8 applications and move these losers to where they belong. |

This irrational tree phobia has to stop. Their property, their rules. Get over it. |
Agree!!! We should, like cut down all the trees everywhere! Who cares if they provide shade, protect our houses from wind, screen noise and pollution, clean the air, filter the water, provide suppr and shelter to millions of birds, insects and small mammals, are beautiful, add value to the neighborhood, and are also part of "God's plan." Those freakin leaves are sooooo annoying! |
Maybe the tree went untrimmed because the sweet baby Jesus wanted you to be with him, to run through the fields and dance in the clouds? If in doubt, OP, walk towards the light. |
This is true, but unless you get someone out to do a survey some people have hissy fits if you cut just over the line. Also, sometimes the problem are on the neighbor's property. |

I'm an owner with three huge healthy oak trees in our yard. It cost $2K per tree to remove it. I checked into it.
Our one set of neighbors constantly complain about the tree and the leaves. When I rake the leaves, I rake their side also. I wish they'd offer to take down the tree. I so would take them up on the offer. But at the same time it is a really pretty tree. I am scared that one of the trees will fall. We'll be sleeping in the basement tomorrow. I do not care so much if we lose power, I can deal with that. But if one of those trees goes down - we or anyone around us are done. |
This is not true. If someone gives notice in writing and you don't follow through and that tree causes serious damage you can be totally screwed. Tree laws are evolving because we no longer live in rural communities. Are you serious with irrational tree phobia or are you a troll? Trees fall on houses and cars and people during and right after major storms. Do you just live in a bubble where nothing bad happens? |
Good point but your example is the minority exception, the majority are cheap mofos |
+1, love not having to rake leaves or empty gutters |
