When you think of "ten years ago" do you think of 1992 rather than 2002? I feel old... anyone else?

Ten years ago?...I don't think as far back in 1992 - more like late 90s.

Seriously, it seems for the last 5 years, I have been mentally stuck in the year 2007.

That was the year before I got married...wonder if that has something to do with it

Just turned 44, and have been noticing this feeling more and more. It must be a special feature of the mid 40s. I feel like the past 20 years really were only about 10.

Wonder what it feels like when we're 55? 65? Older?

I hope we all get there to know!

Yes! Watching Clinton on TV last night... hard to believe he was elected 20 years ago! One of the women in my office said she was 2 when he got elected- and I was in college! When did life start to move so fast??? (I'm 38.)

The worst is that a 21 year old was born in 1991!

Gosh, I'm old...and I thought it would never be "my turn" to say that (I always heard that from other people).

20 year hs reunion is this month. How'd that happen?

Yes! And I'm not as old. It just seems way too soon to already be in 2012!

Yes. Both of my parents died within the past three years, which hit me very hard. Most days I don't feel old, but I certainly have moments.

I am in my 30s. I totally relate to this. My husband is a college professor, and his students didn't know of Pearl Jam.

I remember listening to them on a cassette tape that my sister's high school boyfriend gave me, the summer before they went big.

Some days I still feel like a 17 year old girl. I was looking at some pictures of family vacations this summer and the picture of all the aunts and uncles and cousins at the beach. I looked at the pictures of the 15-17 year old nieces I have in their bathing suits and from behind, they looked like me....30 years ago. The dumpy woman standing next to them? Was really me.

When discussing short jeans shorts last year, one of my co-workers referred to them as Daisy Dukes and said something like "what a strange name." I said, "it's from the Dukes of Hazzard." All I got was a blank stare and "what's the Dukes of Hazzard?" It turns out that the last season of the show was 2 years before she was born. Oy.

As an aside, when looking up the show on IMDB, she was beyond appalled that mainstream television had on it a car with the confederate flag painted on it, and they were the good guys. Times sure have changed.

HAHA!

this made me think of trying to explain to a young lady a few years ago what Welcome Back Kotter was. another young coworker would call...excuse me text or email off from work so often that i called her Juan Epstein. thus, the Kotter explanation. she was born in 1986

What's truly shocking is that college, for me, ended TWENTY-FIVE years ago. When did I get to be 47? I've known my DH over 20 years. It IS truly bizarre.
