He just looks presidential

I actually really liked the 2008 campaign during the primaries because having Obama and Clinton "looking presidential" gave a nice glimpse of what power would look like in this country if it were slightly less entrenched in the "older white male" demographic. I would like to see more of that, rather than less. This R/R ticket is definitely less.

Precisely. Enough said.

love. love.

What OP? He's an older white guy with good hair...oh, he should be president then...not!

I don't thInk be looks presidential. He looks handsome in a suit. But he looks away whenever he makes a critical point. That shows a lack of inner confidence and a tendency to be apologetic. You'll see the same thing in the debates. Heck republicans commented on it on the primary debates.

No doubt he is an effective businessman but there is an unpresidential element. Your own party saw it and that is why the primaries were so painful for your party.

An old quip comes to mind:

Ronald Reagan for President!
Naah -- Henry Fonda for President, Reagan for his best friend.

My elderly mother [born a WASP]loves Obama. So does her republican best friend. They were adults when JFK [Irish Catholic] was elected and see Obama's election as the same sort of popular affirmation. That sound bite on Michelle Obama gets attention but how typical is the belief? I'd say it's unusual.

Meanwhile there's a casting which I really don't like- Tyler Perry as Alex Cross. . . never really saw him as my vision for the character. Ironically neither did this author whose books I also love:

so a person who was an adult when JFK was elected is "elderly" to you? lol. Also, I'm not even sure who Tyler Perry is? I'm a 47 year old part time lawyer. I'm going hobble in with my cane and pull the lever for Obama. My elderly 60 year DH will hoist himself from his walker and vote for him as well.

I don't want to pick sides in this but Kennedy was elected in nov 1960 and therefore an adult at that time is at least 72 today.

Now just challenge yourself to roll into the present day world we live in, and he begins to look like a dinosaur, not a presidential representative of the USA.

Romney likes to describe himself as looking "resolute." What I find noticeable is that he often has an expression in his eyes that simultaneously projects arrogance and condescension yet pleading obsequiousness.

Thank goodness my 60+ year old hands don't have to pull a lever where I live. Just have to push a button.
