My elderly mother [born a WASP]loves Obama.   So does her republican best friend.  They were adults when JFK [Irish Catholic] was elected and see Obama's election as the same sort of popular affirmation.    That sound bite on Michelle Obama gets attention but how typical is the belief?   I'd say it's unusual.

Meanwhile there's a casting which I really don't like- Tyler Perry as Alex Cross.  .  . never really saw him as my vision for the character.   Ironically neither did this author whose books I also love:

so a person who was an adult when JFK was elected is "elderly" to you? lol. Also, I'm not even sure who Tyler Perry is? I'm a 47 year old part time lawyer. I'm going hobble in with my cane and pull the lever for Obama. My elderly 60 year DH will hoist himself from his walker and vote for him as well.[/quote]
